As a child, Debbie Norwitz learned self-reliance the hard way. Growing up void of parental support or love, as a young teen her self-awareness led to shocking discoveries. She scrapped to embrace her own femininity, yet began parenting her baby sister when only twelve years old. Debbie left home at 18 and entered into a vicious marriage, escaping by a rare chance of fate. A stint in Las Vegas as a shill, passion-filled relationships, and workplace drama led to more chaos. Another failed marriage and ten years with the Church of Scientology as one of the highest-ranking officials generated more chaos. After escaping control by her husband and the church, Debbie had had enough. She faced barriers head-on and with an acute sense of survival and determination. After her daughter's kidneys failed she donated one of her own kidneys to her daughter. She traveled overseas on a solo backpacking journey that ignited a new sense of purpose. This is an amazing true story of survival from a world of neglect and danger to one of love and living life to the fullest
About the Author

From the early years of my life, I’ve had to deal with a horrific childhood—parents who fought constantly and completely ignored me during my growing-up years. From a very young age, I had to make (unconscious) decisions to survive adversity. Although my neglect wasn’t often physical, it was intellectually, emotionally, and mentally destabilizing. I had no resources other than myself. My older sister and I fought constantly. I was the ‘mother’ for my younger sister. I survived 10 years in the Church of Scientology and was thrown overboard from the Apollo, L. Ron Hubbard’s ship for out-tech.
