“I’d been given a second chance, in mid-life, to be with a gorgeous hunk of a man who was my long-forgotten fantasy—not the handsomeness or intelligence or love of boats and music, all of which were considerable. It was so much simpler than that, so much more elemental. I dared to dream that I might have the chance to hike, or go boating, or start over with a good man who did nothing more than fall in love with me at a time when my family didn’t need that complication.
We faced a formidable headwind, but behaved as though the wind were at our backs. Formidable and risky—but irresistible.”
About the Author
Marilea Rabasa is a retired English as a Second Language teacher and author of two award-winning memoirs.
