Give Sorrow Words:
The Day America Changed
September 11, 2001

In Memoriam

I live in California but I was born & raised in New York. I worked downtown for a few years before I moved out here. The horror feels really personal to me. I usually try to work out feelings through writing poetry and this is what I've written so far...

We need the time to bury the dead, we need the time to grieve;
Now is the time though to buckle up, come together & roll up our sleeve.

Say a prayer for the repose of the souls of those that so senselessly died;
Say a prayer for mourning families for tears they feel will not dry.

And for those who don’t even know if a loved one will come home at all,
Our prayers and our spirits are there to hold and support them should they fall.

Thank you.
