Give Sorrow Words:
The Day America Changed
September 11, 2001

Patience

What happened Tuesday was caused by hatred. And that in itself will make this a difficult battle to wage. No longer can we fight battles like we did in World War I or II. Our society has changed...this is an electronic age. The terrorists that took innocent lives cannot be avenged with innocent lives. It will only prolong their purpose. We must fight a different battle. We must be patient and work underneath the table so to speak. Find his money, work on his allies weaknesses, undermine his stability within Afghanistan. This maybe a long war, but it does not have to be a bloody one. That is what they want. We have made mistakes with our bombings of other countries in the past and taken our strength for granted. Now we can avenge these horrible acts with a decisive action. We can walk softly and still carry a very large stick. We have the people willing to try and we definitely have the technology. This loss of so many people cannot be in vain. We must be patient, use our intelligence and punish the terrorists that tried to destroy our freedom. May God bless the families of the victims and our prayers are with all the fireman and volunteers still searching in New York and Washington.
