The horror of 9-11-01 (how ironic emergency 911) will forever touch America and her people. I reflect upon how different our countrymen react to this horror than the images we see in the Middle East where mobs are chanting and burning and destroying after a disaster and here we have our everyday heros going about search and rescue and trying to put in place some sembelance of order. What a magnificent country and what wonderful people!
I am especially angered at the lack of intelligence we have paid for and not received. How could this happen?? Where was airport security? Where was the CIA and their listening devices and their informants? I feel an anger, but I fear a war. The weapons of war in these times are gruesome and made to kill millions so the acts of terrorism has changed our landscape but I pray it will not change our future.
The sadness and anger that fills the hearts of Americans during this time will have far reaching consequences for the world, and so perhaps the world has been changed by these acts and tragedies and not just the New York skyline.
