Penny is an independent writer. She also provides her own photos, and over the past thirteen years, her work appeared in numerous newspapers, magazines, and anthologies. She also works with businesses as a consultant and writer. However, some of her favorite projects are helping individuals write and polish creative nonfiction stories and memoirs.
One of Penny's areas of expertise is the topic of pets in our lives. She and her husband have done rescue work for over twenty years. Penny also maintains a pet website and gets calls to provide adaptive information for special needs animals. Therefore, she knows how much animals mean to our lives, as well as how much they support and encourage us.
She also enjoys facilitating writing workshops for groups and communication workshops for businesses. Before working full time as a writer, she was an Office Automation instructor for the community college system in Arizona and co-owner of a custom software business.
After living in Arizona and Georgia, Penny and her husband moved to Austin, Texas in 2006. She and Michael are active supporters of the Austin Humane Society TNR program and the no kill shelter movement. Several four-legged editorial consultants supervise the writing assignments to keep her on track. In her leisure time, she cultivates antique roses and a vegetable garden.
