Jennifer is completing her Ph.D. in the Humanities with a focus in literature at the University of Texas at Dallas while teaching high school full time. Her courses include Creative Writing, Science Fiction, and British Literature. Throughout the year Jennifer serves as a mentor for her district and for the National Writing Project. She enjoys helping people find and express their creative voice. In many of these aspects she nurtures brings out the writer in each teacher to make them better teachers of writers.

Jennifer enjoys writing from a variety of perspectives. Currently, she has a chapter in Blackwell's Terminator and Philosophy as well as an article in Hortulus, a journal focusing on medieval studies. The writing closest to her soul is fiction writing, and she has had some limited success in that realm writing fictional passages of various types for test makers. For her writing, Jennifer pulls inspiration from her family, her studies, and her past experiences.

Jennifer presents regularly at national and regional conferences, including the International Conference of Medieval Studies, the National Council of Teachers of English, and International Conference for the Fantastic in the Arts. Her topics range from medieval echoes in popular culture to aspects of teaching literature and writing. She enjoys meeting new people and hearing their stories.
