| Joyce Boatright received her first byline at age 15. Since then she has published over five hundred articles about American lifestyle, women's issues and educational trends in newspapers, magazines and trade journals. The former journalist has been writing memoir since 1995 and conducts workshops around the country. Her book, Telling Your Story: A Basic Guide to Memoir Writing, is available on amazon.com and on the author's website www.joyceboatright.com. She teaches writing at North Harris College in Houston, Texas, and steadily posts on her blog www.restoryinglife.blogspot.com. Joyce earned her bachelor's degree in journalism and English, and her master's degree in education. After receiving her doctorate from Texas A&M University, she completed post-doctoral studies in creative writing under Southern writer Paul Ruffin at Sam Houston State University. She is entering the sixth decade of her life as the proud owner and enthusiastic rider of a sporty little Harley-Davidson motorcycle. | |
