Stories from the Heart IV
|
|
This year marks the tenth anniversary of the Story Circle Network. Stories from the Heart IV is the fourth National Women's Memoir Conference, held in Austin, TX, Feb 1-3, 2008 and sponsored by the Story Circle Network.
Come celebrate with us!
Stories of the Heart IV is a coming together of women from across the country to write and share stories in celebration of our lives. The conference is for any woman with a story to tell, which means the conference is for every woman, for we all are storytellers. Beginner or seasoned, there is a place for YOU at the conference.
You will find warmth, friendship, wisdom and joy at Stories of the Heart IV along with a powerful lineup of workshops to encourage you to write and share the tapestry of your life story.
See our conference website for more information.

Program
|
|
Susan Wittig Albert, founder of Story Circle Network, declares in her book Writing from Life: "Our lives are made of story: stories handed down from our parents, stories we have created out of our experience, stories about our loves, our work, our explorations, our joys, our disappointments, our learnings—the soul's story. Creating story, we create and re-create ourselves..."
With Susan's words in mind, Stories from the Heart IV has planned a program for readers, writers, storytellers, and any woman with a past, present, and future.
Presentations: We've recently finished the difficult process of selecting the conference presenters. We had a great many wonderful submissions this year, and we've chosen 20 of the very best. If you are a woman with a story to tell, you'll find our program packed full of ideas for telling and sharing your story.
Open Mike: You've got a story, and we have a place for you to tell it! On Saturday night, we'll continue the tradition we began at our first Stories From the Heart conference: A Saturday Night Open Mike. Come and share your story!
Story Wall: Bring your story, pictures, and other life writings to post on our Story Wall. Our Super Scrapbook Sisters will include as many as possible in our Stories from the Heart IV Conference Scrapbook!
See program overview for more details.

Women's Words from the Heart
|
|
The human heart, at whatever age, opens only to the heart that opens in return."
~Maria Edgeworth~
"A broken heart is what makes life so wonderful five years later, when you see the guy in an elevator and he is fat and smoking a cigar and saying long-time-no-see. If he hadn't broken your heart, you couldn't have that glorious feeling of relief!"
~Phyllis Battelle~
Have a "heart" quotation to share? Email it to us, and we'll add it to our growing collection.
